Tags
Purpose
Section titled “Purpose”The Tags interface is used to view and manage user-created tags and their values across assets.
- Lists tags managed by users.
- Shows tag metadata and source.
- Provides actions for creating, editing, and deleting user-managed tags.
- Provides entry points for bulk imports (XLSX/CSV and API) for manual values.
- Shows where tags are used.

Rule-based value methods

- Fetch from a relationship.
- Fetch from another tag.
Import behavior
Section titled “Import behavior”- XLSX/CSV and API imports add or update values as
Manualvalues. - Import is one-time-only, not a separate source type.
Common interface actions
Section titled “Common interface actions”- Browse and search tags.
- Filter by asset type and source.
- Open a tag to inspect values and usage.
- Create a tag.
- Update tag configuration.
- Delete a tag or values (depending on permissions and source constraints).
Access
Section titled “Access”Viewer: read-only access.Contributor: create and modify tags and values according to policy.Admin: full administrative access.
- Tags managed by vScope is read only read-only, but you can use the value in tags managed by the user.
- Some actions can be restricted by role or by tag source.
