TOPdesk

Keep IT assets in TOPdesk up to date with data from vScope. TOPdesk retrieves asset information, such as servers and other equipment, from vScope through the vScope API, so assets can be linked to incidents and changes without being registered by hand.

For background on the integration, see IT Software’s post Håll dina IT-tillgångar uppdaterade i TOPdesk med vScope (in Swedish). IT Software is the Swedish TOPdesk reseller and can help with the TOPdesk side of the setup.

  • Admin access to vScope.
  • Admin access to TOPdesk.
  • A vScope address that TOPdesk can reach.

  1. Create a user with the permission level Viewer, named for its purpose (for example TOPdesk Integration), and an API token for it with an expiry date. See Export a saved table via API.
  2. In Tables, select the asset type (for example Servers) and add the columns you want in TOPdesk, such as Name, Operating System, CPU Total and RAM.
  3. Add the column UUID. It is the stable identifier to match assets in later retrievals.
  4. Save the table and share it with the user from step 1 (Share > Collaborators).
  5. Click Share > Copy link. The table ID is the last part of the URL, for example 1792055636942.
  6. Build the data URL and open it in a browser to verify that it returns data:
https://{VSCOPE_HOST}/v1/tables/{TABLE_ID}/data/csv?token={TOKEN}

Configure TOPdesk to retrieve the table using the URL from the previous section, and map the vScope columns to your asset fields in TOPdesk. Use UUID as the identifier so that later retrievals update existing assets instead of creating duplicates.

The exact steps depend on your TOPdesk setup. Contact IT Software or TOPdesk support for help.
