Properties
Purpose
Section titled “Purpose”In-depth, single-asset detail to understand tags, relations and history of the asset.
Access
Section titled “Access”- Viewers are not allowed to access Properties.
- Contributors and Admins can add tag values for the asset from the About tab. Users cannot add tag values.
- Users can view relationships but cannot create or change relations.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”The page is organized into tabs:
- About: A curated view of the most relevant information for the asset, selected by vScope. Includes a Discovery section for troubleshooting discovery-related issues on it, and is where Contributors and Admins add tag values.
- Health: The Tracker cases the asset is listed in. See Health tab.
- Relationships: The Relationship Graph for the asset’s relations. See Relationships tab.
- Timeline: A day-by-day list of changes discovered for the asset. See Timeline tab.
- All tags: Lists every tag on the asset, including tags collected with Tags from data source.
Health tab
Section titled “Health tab”The Health tab is Tracker for a single asset. It lists the Tracker cases the asset is listed in.
By default, the cases come from the Compliance and Risk & Mitigation collections bundled with vScope. You can extend the tab with your own collections in Settings > Properties.
Relationships tab
Section titled “Relationships tab”The Relationships tab shows the Relationship Graph for the asset. The asset is a node, and you add related assets to the graph to see how it connects to others. Only actual relations are shown, so every node and line reflects data vScope has discovered.
Relationship Graph
Section titled “Relationship Graph”- Nodes: Each node is an asset, labelled with its name and asset type. Click the name of an asset to open its Properties. Drag nodes to reposition them.
- Lines: Each line is a relation between two assets and is labelled with the relation name, for example Hosts or Member of.
- + button: Opens the Explore relationships panel for that node.
- Selecting nodes: Select several nodes with Cmd or Shift to move or remove them from the graph together.
- Zoom controls: Zoom in, zoom out, fit the graph to the screen, and center the view.
Explore relationships panel
Section titled “Explore relationships panel”- Lists all relations available for the selected node, with the number of related assets, for example Member of (1).
- Relations with no assets on the other side are not listed.
- Selecting a relation lists its assets, which you can add to the graph. See Explore asset relationships.
Toolbar
Section titled “Toolbar”| Button | Action |

| Save | Saves the assets in the graph and their positions. |
| Revert | Returns to the last saved state. |
| Rearrange | Arranges all nodes in the graph in a clear, readable order with one click. |
The saved graph belongs to the asset and is shared with every user who has access to it.
Timeline tab
Section titled “Timeline tab”The Timeline tab lists all changes vScope has registered for the asset, day by day. Select a timespan to choose how far back to look, for example 3 months or 1 year.
The timeline only contains changes found by Discovery. For comparing two Discoveries across many assets, see History.
