No usage data for 365 applications

If usage data for Microsoft 365 applications appears empty in vScope, it may be due to Microsoft’s anonymization settings. By default, user, group, or site details are hidden in reports to support privacy requirements. Below are steps and resources to help address this issue.

For further guidance, refer to Microsoft’s documentation on anonymized user data: Microsoft 365 admin center activity reports - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Why is user data anonymized?

Since September 1, 2021, Microsoft has anonymized user, group, and site data by default in reports to comply with privacy standards. However, global administrators have the option to reveal this information for their organization if privacy practices permit.

How to Enable Identifiable Data in Reports

Global administrators can revert the anonymization setting in the Microsoft 365 admin center to display identifiable user, group, and site information. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Org Settings > Services in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  2. Select Reports.
  3. Uncheck Display concealed user, group, and site names in all reports.
  4. Save changes.

This setting change will enable vScope to access and display the full usage data for Microsoft 365 applications.
