Creating a Case

Create a custom case so Tracker audits align with your environment. Changes apply after the next full discovery run.

  • Role: Admin or Contributor permissions.
  • At least one successful Discovery so assets are available to evaluate.
  1. Open Tracker from the navigation.
  2. Click New Case.
  3. Enter the Title, Description, and a Suggested Solution.
  4. In Configuration, set:
    1. Asset Type: What the case applies to.
    2. Severity: Low / Medium / High based on impact if flagged.
    3. Trigger criteria: Threshold that marks the issue.
    4. Filters: Include or exclude assets (e.g., Owner = Lab, Running = True).
    5. Result Preview: Verify the preview matches expectations before saving.
    6. Interest (optional): Categorize for reporting.
    7. Computation (optional): Advanced logic such as duplicate detection or calculations.
  5. Click Save. The case will evaluate in the next daily Tracker run (next full discovery by default).
  6. After that run, reopen the case and confirm results; adjust filters or criteria if needed.
