Warranty
By adding Warranty to vScope, warranty data is automatically synchronized from various manufacturers’ portals to your asset repository. With warranty information integrated directly into vScope, you gain a comprehensive view of your connected devices in one central location. You can easily see all the details about your assets combined with warranty data from different sources. We are continuously developing this feature and will integrate vScope with more manufacturers’ systems to automatically retrieve information about warranty status, expiration dates, and any service agreements linked to your hardware.
Examples of data collected using Warranty:
- Manufacturer and product name
- Serial number
- Warranty start and end dates
- Type of warranty (e.g., standard, extended)
- Information about any service agreements
Adding warranty data to vScope
To automatically gather warranty status details for devices in vScope’s asset repository, you need to configure a credential in vScope:
- Navigate to Discovery > Credentials.
- Click Create credential and choose Warranty.
- Select which vendors you want to check.
During the next discovery, vScope will attempt to retrieve warranty information for each vendor and devices in your environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to provide an API key?
No, vScope has built-in integration to fetch warranty status information directly from vendors’ warranty portals without requiring a separate API key configuration.
Can I collect Warranty data via proxy?
Yes, you can assign your credential to a proxy to solve, for example, internet access issues.
How often is the warranty status updated?
vScope automatically attempts to fetch the initial warranty status from Dell TechDirect when new Dell devices are discovered. If you extend or modify existing warranties for your Dell devices, vScope will refresh this information on a monthly basis.
