Hyper-V
Integrating Hyper-V with vScope allows you to inventory and monitor your virtual infrastructure, providing visibility into virtual machines, hosts, and associated configurations within vScope.
Requirements
To connect vScope to a Hyper-V environment, you will need:
-
Read-Only Accounts: Ensure you have read-only accounts with permissions to access the entire virtual infrastructure. This is essential for vScope to collect data on virtual machines, host configurations, and other associated resources securely without making any changes.
-
WMI Access: Hyper-V environments typically require Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) for data collection. WMI must be enabled on target machines in the Hyper-V infrastructure. vScope relies on WMI to gather data about virtual machines, memory allocations, CPU usage, and other metrics from Hyper-V hosts.
- Follow this guide for detailed steps: Setting Up WMI on Target Machines
-
Firewall Configuration: Ensure firewall rules permit WMI traffic (default port 135 for WMI). Additional DCOM or RPC dynamic ports might also be required depending on network policies and firewall configurations.
