HP

Goal: retrieve HP device warranty status using HP’s Product Warranty API.

  1. Request API access by contacting warrantyapi.customers@hp.com, providing your HP Account Manager’s mailing address. You may also contact the account manager directly and request access to your HP warranty API.
  2. Wait for approval. This will give you access to HP’s Developer Portal
  3. Login, and access you API credentials.
  4. Select the API credential, and copy the API key and secret.
  1. In vScope, go to Discovery > Credentials.
  2. Click Create credentialWarranty → select HP.
  3. Enter the HP API Key and API Secret.
  4. (Optional) Assign a discovery proxy if direct internet access is blocked.
  5. Save, then run a discovery. HP warranty data is fetched for devices with matching serial numbers.
  • Search and open the table Warranty Summary.
  • Ensure that you can view HP in the list of vendor, together with various Warranty start and end dates etc. for the asset.
  1. No results: confirm the device serial is present in vScope and matches HP format.
  2. Credential errors: re-check API Key/Secret and that your developer account is approved.
  3. Network errors: verify outbound HTTPS to warranty.api.hp.com:443 or proxy settings.
