Goal: retrieve HP device warranty status using HP’s Product Warranty API.
Get HP API credentials
Section titled “Get HP API credentials”- Request API access by contacting warrantyapi.customers@hp.com, providing your HP Account Manager’s mailing address. You may also contact the account manager directly and request access to your HP warranty API.
- Wait for approval. This will give you access to HP’s Developer Portal
- Login, and access you API credentials.
- Select the API credential, and copy the API key and secret.
Add HP warranty in vScope
Section titled “Add HP warranty in vScope”- In vScope, go to Discovery > Credentials.
- Click Create credential → Warranty → select HP.
- Enter the HP API Key and API Secret.
- (Optional) Assign a discovery proxy if direct internet access is blocked.
- Save, then run a discovery. HP warranty data is fetched for devices with matching serial numbers.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”- Search and open the table Warranty Summary.
- Ensure that you can view HP in the list of vendor, together with various Warranty start and end dates etc. for the asset.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- No results: confirm the device serial is present in vScope and matches HP format.
- Credential errors: re-check API Key/Secret and that your developer account is approved.
- Network errors: verify outbound HTTPS to
warranty.api.hp.com:443or proxy settings.
