Disk & Storage
vScope continuously stores historical changes in your IT environment, which means disk usage will grow over time. By default, vScope automatically removes historical data older than 60 months, causing disk usage to stabilize after roughly five years.
If your vScope installation is using more disk space than expected, you can safely reduce usage using one of the methods below. Direct deletion of specific data is not available, as it may affect data consistency and backup integrity.
Method 1: Reset vScope’s Database Model
Section titled “Method 1: Reset vScope’s Database Model”If you need to start fresh, you can reset the entire database model under:
Settings → Database & Backup
This will remove all discovered assets, history, and reports.
Method 2: Adjust the Historical Data Retention Period
Section titled “Method 2: Adjust the Historical Data Retention Period”vScope stores up to five years of historical changes by default, which can require substantial storage. To reduce disk usage, you can lower the retention period — for example, to three or two years.
