Directory Integration

Integrating vScope with your Active Directory (AD) or LDAP service allows you to use domain user accounts within vScope. To enable this feature, you’ll need to configure authentication for your directory service in vScope.

  1. Go to Settings > Active Directory.
  2. Enter the corresponding credentials for your directory service.

Group Mapping

Group Mapping enables you to automatically assign user groups in vScope based on directory service groups.

  1. Click Connect. If the connection is successful, the button will turn green, allowing access to the Group Mapping section.
  2. Use this section to map directory groups to vScope user groups.
    • For example, create new groups in your directory service called vScopeAdmins and vScopeUsers to assign permissions within vScope.
  3. If the groups are not visible in the dropdown list, click Refresh Groups to update the list.

Optional: Set Nested Group Options

For larger domains, authenticating and resolving group memberships can take additional time. To speed up authentication, you can adjust the group membership resolution method:

  1. Go to Nested Group Options and select Advanced settings.
  2. Choose the preferred method for resolving group membership to optimize performance for your environment.

With directory integration, vScope can seamlessly incorporate your organization’s existing user accounts and permissions structure, streamlining access control and management.
