License Errors
License Exceeded
This warning indicates that you have inventoried more assets than your license permits.
How to fix License Exceeded
-
Review Upgrade
When your license limit is exceeded, a suggested upgrade is automatically generated in your vScope Account. Log in to vScope Account to review and confirm the upgrade. -
Adjust Discovery Settings
Modify your discovery settings to exclude certain assets from being inventoried. This can be done by disabling IP ranges or refining discovery configurations. -
Clean Up Data Sources
Use vScope to identify obsolete or outdated assets. Cleaning up your data sources can help lower the license levels by removing unnecessary assets. -
Temporarily Disable a Module (Not Recommended)
As an administrator, you can temporarily disable a module in vScope under Settings > Subscription & License. This will hide all asset types and content within that module. Note that this state will reset the following day.
Licensed to Wrong Machine
The “Wrong License” error occurs when there is a mismatch in machine identification parameters. vScope licenses are tied to specific machines, identified partially by their MAC addresses. This error can arise due to:
-
Network Configuration Changes
Adjustments such as adding or removing network connections or changing network adapters can generate a new MAC address, leading vScope to detect a different machine. -
Temporary Network Disconnection
Loss of network connectivity can result in a reassigned MAC address, causing vScope to recognize the machine as a different entity.
How to fix Licensed to Wrong Machine
To resolve this issue, you will need to reassign your vScope license. This process requires assistance from Customer Success or your company’s Account Manager. Contact us at support@infrasightlabs.com for help.
