How is vScope Updated?

Automatic Updates

InfraSight Labs minimizes maintenance efforts for vScope by automating the update process. To enable automatic updates, navigate to Settings -> Miscellaneous and set Software Updates to “Automatically update immediately.” With this setting, vScope will automatically download and install new versions as they become available.

  • Timing: New updates are generally applied within 24 hours of release, outside of standard office hours, to prevent interruptions.

Manual Updates

If you prefer to control the timing of updates, you can manually check for and install new versions:

  1. Go to the About vScope page.
  2. Click on the Update icon.
  • Prompted Download and Restart: If a new version is available, you will have the option to download and install it. vScope will prompt you to restart, completing the update almost instantly.

This flexibility allows users to either maintain the latest features and security improvements automatically or schedule updates as needed.
